How to Get Your Website Indexed by Google Fast

Published a new page and it's invisible on Google? Here's how to get indexed fast — and what's actually slowing you down.

1. Submit your sitemap in Search Console

Google retired its old google.com/ping?sitemap= endpoint in 2023. The supported path now: Search Console → Sitemaps → add your sitemap URL. Do this once per site; Google re-checks it regularly.

2. Request indexing for important URLs

In Search Console, use URL Inspection, enter the URL, and click Request indexing. Use sparingly — there's a daily quota, roughly 10 requests per day.

3. Link new pages internally

Google discovers pages by following links. A new page with zero internal links is nearly invisible. Link it from a relevant, already-indexed page.

4. Fix the usual blockers

  • noindex tags left over from staging.
  • Blocked in robots.txt (test with Search Console's robots tester).
  • Slow or erroring pages — Google deprioritizes crawling them.
  • Thin or duplicate content — may be crawled but never indexed.

5. For Bing/Yandex: use IndexNow

While you wait on Google, ping IndexNow to get the same URLs into Bing and Yandex within minutes. SitemapPing does this in one click.

How long does indexing take?

Anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks depending on your site's authority and crawl budget. New sites are slower — consistent publishing and good internal linking speed it up over time.
